At Dr. Bradshaw's law office, we support legislation
to reduce drunk driving and education to deter this local and
national problem. Below is some valuable information concerning
drunk driving.
Current
Legislation:
A new law is being considered by the legislature of Missouri.
This bill would provide stricter penalties for drunk driving and
would also reduce the legal blood alcohol content level from .01 to
.008. This type of legislation has already been enacted in many
states.

Dram
Shoplaw:
Under current Missouri law, when a person is clearly
intoxicated, a bar or tavern is not supposed to sell them any
more liquor. The law is designed to prevent alcohol related deaths
and injuries. State law makers are about to pull a fast one. Under a
new bill, sponsored by several Missouri representatives, the beer,
whiskey and bar lobbies are about to get a law passed that removes
them from responsibility and destroys their accountability.

Let's make Missouri roads safer, not more dangerous, contact your
state representatives at the link below. Don't let bars and taverns
keep serving alcohol to people who are clearly intoxicated; people
who will become alcohol impaired drivers sharing the road with you
and your family.

Tips:
- Always choose a designated driver. Many bars and clubs will
provide free soda, coffee, or tea all night long to a designated
driver.
- If you are the designated driver, be sure to collect the keys
from your friends who are drinking, you can return their keys to
them after they are home safe.
- If you haven't chosen a designated driver, call a cab or a
friend or family member to take you home. Some cab companies will
drive you home for free or at a reduced rate. Check the message
boards generally located near the pay phone in some bars or clubs.
Education:
If you feel that yourself, or a friend or family member has a
drinking problem, seek help. There are many organizations who can
help you get back on track. Alcoholism is a serious disease with
potentially life threatening consequences; not only the life of the
alcoholic is in danger, but many times the lives of people around
them as well.
